Hotel staff can be alerted when battery levels begin to decrease, so they can change the batteries before it becomes an issue for a guest. This would be for hotels that are using our modules in the hotel's locks:
In HOST, go to Hotel Information and select Mapping.
The voltage will display in the Battery Level column. The readouts occur each time a lock is opened with a mobile key.
Green = Battery life is good
Red = Change batteries soon
Grey = No recent activity, the number may not be accurate
To obtain an accurate readout of the battery level of a lock with a grey indicator, use a mobile key to open the lock.
Battery Level and Numbers:
Typically each battery cell is 1.5v so a lock using four cells would register 6. If the lockset is only utilizing 3 cells, then obviously it'll only register 4.5v.
Openkey NXT 150 locksets use 4 AA cells.
Entrava locks use 4 AAA cells.
Kaba locks with OpneKey modules, if the lockset is a 700 series lock then we supply our battery pack, which uses 3 cells so the registered level would be around 4.5v
Kaba quantum or MT model lockset, then we use the OEM batteries to power the module, and that likely would result in a registered level of 6v since those locks use 4 cells.
Onity lockset using OpenKey modules we would supply our 4-cell battery pack, so the registered level would show 6v.
