Getting to know the App and Downloading a Mobile Key
Permissions - You must allow permissions
Find my reservation, and add your phone number for verification.
A text message with a verification code will be sent to the mobile number register, simply copy and paste the code into the verification boxes.
The mobile key will start to download onto the device,
The mobile key will appear on the app along with the check-in and check-out dates and times.
Open Your Door - Once the mobile key has been successfully downloaded, the guest will be able to open their door. Tap on the big blue key activation button. Follow the instructions on the key screen to see whether you need to hold your phone to the lock while pressing the key button within the app or simply press the button within a few feet of the lock.
A green checkmark will appear on the screen along with a vibration of the device indicating that the door has successfully been opened.
Navigating the OpenKey App
Active Mobile Key - Allows the guest to access their room and common areas along with other features within the app.

Additional Door Access - Click on Additional Door to see a list of the additional doors on your mobile key, this could be Common Areas as well as Designated Access Areas, click on the access door you need and hold it up to the lock for that lock to engage and open.
Info - Shows the following additional options
Hotel Information ( Hotel name, address, and phone number)
Images (Swipe to the left and right to see more images)
Highlights (Click each Highlight icon, to see its description)
Announcements (Swipe to the left and right to see more Announcements)
Promotions (Swipe to the left and right to see more Promotions)
Dining Options (Click on individual Dining Options to see if the Restaurant offers a reservation link to Book a Reservation.)
Contact Hotel - Opens the dialer and allows you to call the front desk by touching Call Hotel and if you have added an SMS number into HOST, the Text Hotel option will allow you to text the hotel from your messages.
Checkout - Checkout (leading to Guest Feedback) - The key will expire automatically at the scheduled date and time of check-out unless the hotel has checked the guest out via a PMS integration or manually in HOST. The user will also be able to check out from the OpenKey app (see below).
Once checked out, the key is automatically expired. The user will now see a Feedback Screen asking to rate their stay. Once submitted or skipped, the app will go back to the Search Hotels screen.
Share Key - Allows the main guest on the reservation the ability to share their key with other members of their party, if allowed by the hotel. To view more about how to limit the number of mobile keys a guest can share, check out our article on limiting shared keys.
Side Menu Options - Profile, Upcoming Stays, Security, Search Hotels, Sleep Sounds
Profile - Just like when you register with the front desk, your name, ID, and payment must be verified before the hotel can allow you to check in. Your name and contact information are used to help connect your mobile device to your hotel reservations. We require this to ensure the security of the mobile key.
Upcoming Stays - If your stay displays “Pending Available Room” then you must wait until the Hotel assigns you a room. You will be notified when the room is ready and available. Once the room is assigned to you, you will be able to get your mobile key by selecting the “Get My Key” button. If you notice an error with your reservation details, please contact the hotel directly by clicking the icon.
Security - You can set up security for the mobile key. On this page of the app, you can enable or disable the Pattern Lock.

Search Hotels - Locate a variety of hotels that support OpenKey. Select the appropriate country (United States} is selected by default) and enter the City in the search field. A secondary search is available to further filter the list within the city/state the user first searched.
Sleep Aid - This feature is a built-in, free service to give you the best sleep during your stay at an Openkey hotel. Simply select your preferred sleep sound and allotted play time and click click the button at the bottom of the screen. Feel free to close the app, but please keep it open in the background. The sound will play until the timer runs out. If you select Infinity, the sound will play in the background until you completely close out of the app.
