Moving existing HIMS Software info onto a new computer
Sometimes, the Hotel Intelligence Management System software will need to be moved to a new computer. The old computer needs to be replaced or the computer has stopped working or a few other different scenarios. If you find this is the case, you can move the HIMS software to a new computer and keep all configurations on the current computer.
NOTE – This will NOT work for customers who want to have two computers working with HIMS simultaneously. These instructions are only applicable if you are replacing one existing computer with one new computer.
It is important that all steps be followed in the exact order listed.
Existing computer
- Backup your existing room information. Go to Files -->Backup database --> Save as (Desktop is recommended location).
2. Send yourself the backed-up file via email or save on a flash drive. You will upload this file to your new PC before installing the Hotel Intelligence Management Software (see steps 2 and 3 below), and you'll need to be able to access it.
New computer
- Important! Verify the date and time on your new computer - this cannot be done once the Hotel Intelligence Management Software is installed.
- Save the backed-up file from your old PC onto your new PC (again, the Desktop is the recommended location).
- Download the Hotel Intelligence Software onto your new PC using this link: Hotel Intelligent Management Platform 99.170208V.exe
- Plug the encoder into your new PC.
- Place the Authorization card onto the encoder to authorize the software.
- In the new HIMS software that you just added to your new PC, go to Files --> Restore Database (directly below the Backup database option)
7. Follow the prompts to locate your saved file (the backed-up info from your old PC) and merge with HIMS software.
