Scenario: An Entrava lock is not working as expected with RFID (plastic) keys. In addition to other troubleshooting steps, you’ll want to confirm that the time on the lock is correct and update it if it is not.
**Note - This scenario becomes more common after Daylight Savings Time changes.**
Step 1: Create a BLE set-up card
- Sign in to the Front Desk system (ImGate RMS).
- Go into the “Room Settings” window. Select the “Setup Card” Tab.
- Select “BLE Setup.”
- Place a key card on the encoder.
- Press “Issue Card.”
Step 2: Download the ImGate Staff App on your iPhone or Android device (if not already downloaded).
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
Android or iPhone – Entrava ImGate Staff App (Download from the app store, Search “ImGate Staff”)
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/imgate-staff/id1435472262
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.co.imgate.hospitality.staff&hl=en_US (RECOMMENDED)
Step 3: Log into the ImGate Staff App
- Use the same login credentials that you use to log into ImGate RMS.
- If you don’t remember those credentials, contact support@openkey.co for assistance.
Step 4: Once you are logged in, scroll down to DOOR LOCK TIME UPDATE:
The next screen will look like this:
Step 5: Take the BLE card and hold it up to the lock.
- The lock should flash blue.
- This blue flash indicates you are ready to move to the next step.
Step 6: Hold the phone up to the lock.
- The lock should flash blue continuously. Do not move the phone away from the lock.
- Continue holding the phone up to the lock until the blue flash stops (this may take up to one minute).
Note – the phone screen will not change during this process. - Once the blue flashing light on the lock stops flashing, the time has been updated.
Step 7: Test lock functionality.
- In IGRMS, delete any existing keycards for that room.
- In IGRMS, create a new keycard for the room.
- Go to the room and use the new keycard to open the door.
If the lock is still not functioning as expected, additional troubleshooting will be needed, refer to the Entrava articles for directions or contact OpenKey Support (support@openkey.co).
