In the videos below, you will be introduced to the Entrava Touch wide model installation process, from the lockset pieces to the installation on your doors.
Introduction
- Exterior Escutcheon (the side with the reader)
- Interior Escutcheon (the side with the batteries)
- Entrava Mortise (either left-hand or right-hand, depending on the orientation of the lock) We also stipulate if your door is a reverse-handed door in so far as it pulls out from the room, as opposed to you, push it into the room, you will need a reverse-oriented mortise. They are not universal.
- A key cylinder and key set that we will show how to install into the mortise.
- An Entrava face plate that fits on the door meeting the strike
- A suite of screws for mounting the lock and mounting the mortise
- A set of spindles, one for each handle and one thinner longer spindle for the deadbolt.
Installation of the Mortise
- Your door should already be pocketed with the right dimensions for your mortise and the holes for mounting the lockset, accessing the cylinder, and feeding all the cabling should already be cut.
- Your deadbolt spindle hole goes from front to back.
- Your mounting bolts go from front to back and there should be a large hole from front to back, that will be for your handles.
- Slide the mortise into the door via the pocket if need be feed any wiring from the mortise up through the holes, take your two mounting screws, and secure the mortise into place.
Installation of the Key Cylinder, Wiring Connections, and Escutcheon Plates
- Once you have the mortise secured without the beauty plate or the face plate, we next need to install your key cylinder.
- Your key cylinder has a mechanism that turns left to right, depending on the mechanical key, turning inside the cylinder that faces down, you will need to install the cylinder into the mortice, and inside the mortise is a screw that needs to be secured into the cylinder tightening (just hand tight), and it should be installed.
- The final task which you can do now, or you can do after both Interior and Exterior Escutcheons are installed is to install your beauty plate or your face plate, slide over both the deadbolt and the latch and secure down at the bottom and at the top with your small screws for the face plate.
- You will know the Interior Escutcheon is accurately positioned when you can twist the deadbolt and it will engage. Then you should be able to twist the handle to retract the latch.
- Now with the Exterior Escutcheon, the cylinder is already installed, as well as the deadbolt spindle.
- You will need to install the exterior spindle for the door handle. Remember the teeth go towards the mortise.
- You will also need to make connections with our wire harness.
- Your motor cable is the six-pin adapter. Press until it clicks. Your two pins are your battery cables, this is your power. Press until it clicks. At this point, feel free to hide the wiring inside the door.
- Make sure that the spindle goes inside the handle and your two mounting points (up at the top and down at the bottom), fit into your mounting holes and press to sync up between the Interior and Exterior Escutcheons.
- On the interior of the lock set, you will need to place our mounting bolts to secure the lockset Interior to the Exterior Escutcheons.
- Your lockset is now installed.
Battery Installation and Lock Activation
- The last thing we need to do is install the batteries, take a hex wrench to remove the battery cover. These locks work on 4 AAA batteries. Our suggestion is Duracell Procell.
- One battery goes up into the body, snap another battery right underneath, and then repeat on the other side, you should hear the lock activate.
- Return the battery cover once the batteries have been installed.
- You are now good to go to program the lock to your hotel build.
