Permissions are necessary when trying to download the mobile key and open doors in the hotel.
When first downloading the app on either Android or iPhone devices, you will need to make sure your permissions are on for all of the following:
Bluetooth
- The hotel lock providers provide us access to their Bluetooth technology. This allows you to open your doors within the hotel, including the door to your room.
Notifications
- In order to get you access to your room key, we need to send your access to your mobile device. This communication is done through push notifications, letting you know your room key is available.
Locations Services
- This is NOT functionality used by OpenKey. Lock providers require this to ensure security and provide additional measures to grant access to the hotel room to the correct user.

If you turn off any of the permissions during your stay, the mobile keys will not work. If you have turned them off and try to open a door you will receive the error message below, you will need to click on Allow and this will take you to the app permissions and you must turn on the permissions.
