There are two ways to program OK NXT-150 locks, with the handheld programmer or with RFID (plastic) keys.
For information on programming with the handheld programmer, see OpenKey NXT-150 ~~ How to Program Locks Using Handheld Programmer
To program with plastic keys, you will need three separate cards:
- Creation Card (see steps to create below)
- Time Card (see steps to create below)
- Authorization Card
Creation Card
- Click ROOM MANAGEMENT
- Select ROOM INFORMATION
- Highlight the room you are looking to program
- Put a blank key on the encoder
- Click CREATE ROOM
- You should receive a successful message on the Card Info panel
Time Card
- Click CARD MANAGEMENT
- Click MAKE SPECIAL CARD
- Select SETTING CARD
- Select TIME CARD (The time should be set forward a few minutes, to make sure you get to the lock at the same time the card is set)
- Place a blank card on the encoder
- Click CONFIRM
- You should receive a success message
- Take the Authorization Card, Time Card, and Creation Card to the lock you want to program (same lock/room you selected when making the Creation Card)
- Hold the Authorization Card to the lock until it registers (blue light)
- Then, hold the Creation Card to the lock until it registers (blue light)
- Then, hold the Time Card to the lock until it registers (blue light)
- These steps will program the lock to align with the room information added to the Creation Card
To test, go back to the computer and create a new guest card, trying it at the reader or lock.
