You can create a ghost room in the software for various reasons such as testing common areas or giving access to a certain common area without giving access to the actual hotel room. For example, if the guest wants to use the pool area before the room is available. Follow the instructions below:
- Open the software and log in, click on Room Management and Room type to create the new room type.
- Create a new room type and call it Ghost Room or whatever suits your needs for this room type. Click the green circle with the plus sign to add the new room type. Add the room type name, and the max quantity for the cards and click OK.
- Click Room Management again and then select Room Management.
- Click on the green circle with the plus sign to add the new room. Once the box opens, in the room number box you can add Pool or whatever you want to add the room name to be. (This will just make it easier for you and your team to recognize this without confusion.) Choose the room type you created from the drop-down, leave the lock type as guest room and suite, and choose the maximum quantity of cards that can be created for this. (Please keep in mind, it will assign a lock number but this does not matter simply because it is a ghost room and not a room with an actual lock.) Click ADD
- Click on the lady icon in the upper left-hand corner to get to the check-in page. From here you will now see the room you have created, in the example below, it is simply called Pool, you can create a key card for this room and it will have the common area attached to it just like a regular key card.
