IGRMS Software ~~ How to Read a Card

The Read Card button allows for several functions with RFID cards.

Erase Card
- To clear data from a card so that the card can be reused, put the card on the encoder and select the Erase Card button
- Erase Card does not check out a guest from a room or change room status to vacant
- To check out a card and return a room to vacant, select the Check Out button
Duplicate Card
- To copy current data from a Guest card
  - Put the original (issued) Guest card on the encoder
  - Select the Duplicate Card button
  - Put a new (blank) card on the encoder
  - Select the Duplicate Card button
- Duplicate Card only works for Guest cards
- If you try to duplicate a Master card or other Staff cards, you will notice that the Duplicate Card button is grayed out
Read Card
- The Read Card button is typically accessed at the top of the IGRMS screen
- The additional Read Card button on the popup performs the same function as the Read Card button at the top of the IGRMS screen
Check Out
- To check out a Guest card, put the card on the encoder and select the Check Out button
- The Guest card will deactivate in IGRMS, and the room status will return to vacant
- If the room status does not update, select the Refresh icon at the top of the screen (next to the Read Card button)
- Once a Guest card is checked out, it will display as Checked Out in card history
